THE CYO HOLDS ITS AUDITIONS
ANNUALLY IN JUNE ONLY
Auditions are not held at any other time during the year.
Auditions are 15 minutes in length, scheduled between 4 pm and 8 pm,
and are by appointment only. Age limit 14 - 24 years.
The playing level for CYO members is generally grade 9 or higher (RCM).
Auditions held at Mount Royal University, Lincoln Park Campus.
Warm-up rooms will be available.
Please arrive 15 mins. in advance of appointed audition.

June 10 and 11

BOOKING YOUR AUDITION TIME
Auditions may be arranged online by filling out and submitting the
Mount Royal Consevatory's on-line Orchestral Program Audition Request Form.
You will receive an email confirming we have received your form. The Conservatory office
will then schedule your audition and email you with all pertinent information.

| • | Orchestral excerpts from the repertoire performed during the past year in the Intermediate/Conservatory Strings (please bring music) |
| • | 3 octave scales and arpeggios: one major, one minor (key is student’s choice) |
| • | Spiccato, legato bowings |
| • | Sight reading |
| 3. | New to CYO (Non-Academy) |
| • | Two contrasting movements or two contrasting studies (one slow, one fast) |
| • | 3 octave scales and arpeggios: one major, one minor (key is student’s choice) |
| • | Sight reading |
| • | Spiccato, legato bowings |
| ACADEMY AUDITIONS | |
The Academy auditions will be videotaped. No separate CYO auditions necessary unless requested by Mr. Agopian |

GENERAL INFORMATION
| • | CYO meets Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Leacock Theatre, Moun troyal University. |
| • | For 2009/2010, Mount Royal University tuition fees are $440. The Calgary Youth Orchestra Society fees are $500 (plus $75 music deposit). See fees for complete payment due dates and further information. |
| • | Rehearsal and concert season runs from early September to mid-June. |
